Infinity Blade III, the popular action RPG for iOS, will see its final update, Kingdom Come, launch September 4.
The free update adds new environments, weapons and enemies to the game and includes a new dragon to round out this end to developer Chair Entertainment's successful trilogy. To mark the occasion, Chair released a tribute video highlighting the greatest moments of the series and giving fans a preview into what they can expect from Kingdom Come. The final update will also be available to test out this weekend at PAX Prime a couple days ahead of its release.
The Infinity Blade trilogy started in late 2010. The original launched as the first iOS game to be powered by the Unreal Engine. In 2013, the launch of Infinity Blade III marked the beginning of the series' conclusion. Now, almost four years after the original debut of this franchise that brought epic open-world attitudes and swipe-based combat to the mobile platform has reached its end with Kingdom Come, which will close out the story of the hero Siris and the rogue Isa.
Epic Games Shuts Down Infinity Blade: Dungeons Developer Impossible Studios
For the last four years, the popular trilogy has spawned spin-offs like the Infinity Blade FX arcade game and the ill-fated Infinity Blade: Dungeons spin-off for iOS. The franchise has even inspired a pair of short novels by well-known Mistborn author Brandon Sanderson. The first, Infinity Blade: Awakening, connects the stories of the first two Infinity Blade iOS games while the other, Infinity Blade: Redemption, connects the plots of Infinity Blade II and Infinity Blade III.
