Elder Scrolls Online Update: Loyalty Program Rewards Longtime Players With Unique Vanity Pets

Longtime Elder Scrolls Online Subscribers Will Be Getting Goodies Through The Game's New Loyalty Program

The Elder Scrolls Online is rewarding players who have stuck with the game from the get-go with a new, tiered subscriber loyalty program.

Elder Scrolls Online Console Release Delayed Until At Least The End Of 2014

Announced last week on the MMO's website, the new program will reward players who have been paying for a subscription for at least three months (sorry bargain hunters, complimentary game time doesn't count toward rewards). Emails will start going out in September to eligible players. Three-month players will be given a High Hrothgar Wraith vanity pet to tote around and show off their dedication to serving their faction.

For players who haven't spent enough time with the game yet, the reward will still be available whenever they reach the needed loyalty level. According to the announcement, the next reward will be given to six-month paid subscribers. We can only hope that players who spend enough time with the game will eventually be able to walk around Tamriel with a pet frost troll in tow.

Details of Elder Scrolls Online Update 1.3.3

ESO players have already had the chance to pick up different vanity pets as preorder rewards or as bonuses for purchasing real-world toys and figures. A pet resembling a monkey called an Imgakin was available for players who participated in the game's beta between certain dates. As the term "vanity pets" suggests, the pets have purely aesthetic and collectible value. Players get no combat help from their pint-sized companion (which should be good news to anyone who has ever had problems taking down a group of those evasive ice wraiths in Skyrim). But for anyone looking to prove to his fellow men and mer that he is fully committed to defending Mundus from the incursion of Molag Bal, these rewards are an easy way to prove your loyalty to the cause.
