SCREENSHOTS: Diablo 3, Four Years in the Making?

Blizzard's highly anticipated action RPG title Diablo 3 have made headlines with delay announcements which has stretched development to nearly 4 years  since its announcement in 2008.  Fans have become impatient, but the expectations and hype for its release has never been higher.

Diablo 3 will place gamers 12 years after the ending from Diablo 2.  The defeat of Mephisto Diablo and Baal have earned a time of peace but evil has made its way back to the world of Sanctuary.  Players will gear up with magic spells, weapons, and abilities in order to destroy demonic creatures that havocs Tristram.  Gamers can choose to take on evil with 3 other players in the game's multiplayer co-op mode.

Amidst the delays, Blizzard continues to patiently polish and refine the game in order to satisfy the huge fan base wanting to get their hands on a copy.  Concerns arose involving the difficulty level of the demo's gameplay and questioning the company's ability to host the influx of gamers who will be playing Diablo 3's multiplayer mode.

Despite the early complaints,  fans hold high hope that Diablo 3 can deliver the goods once it is released.  Blizzard has had a good track record of releasing popular titles even though there were delays involved.  Fans who have been waiting over 3 years for Diablo 3 may not mind a couple more months for a polished final product.  Diablo is scheduled for a quarter two release and will be available for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.
