A new gameplay video on the Xbox YouTube channel takes us through a round of Evolve as the damage-dealing Assault class.
Evolve Xbox One Beta Will Begin January
The video follows Xbox One Uploader R104LIFE as he joins a team of monster hunters as the flamethrower-wielding Hyde, one of two current options for playing as the Assault class. As the Uploader states early on in the video, the Assault class is all about serving as the offensive powerhouse of the team, which is trying to take down the monster that is progressively growing stronger throughout the match. In this round, they're up against the Godzilla-inspired Goliath. Armed with a flamethrower, a minigun and grenades, Hyde's role in the match is clear: get to the monster and lay down some heavy fire when he shows up.
As the video shows, teamwork is essential for the hunters side of a match in Evolve. Hyde may come packed with a limited invulnerability shield, but he'll depend on the Support class to find the monster, the Medic to make sure Hyde is still standing throughout the fight and the Trapper to keep the big baddie in one place while he's engaged. This focus on teamwork is especially apparent toward the end of the video. Once Hyde is taken down by the Goliath, it doesn't take long before the Medic and Trapper follow suit, ending the round with a win for the one-man monster team.
