The Macbook Pro has been given a price cut in the U.K., following the same path of the iMac and Macbook Air, as well as some small hardware changes.

The Pro is now £100 less in the United Kingdom, the 13-inch now sitting at £999 on Apple's website. The Register has taken note of the spec changes, which had been rumored, though the differences are mostly fairly minor.
The i5 processor in the entry level 13-inch version of the Macbook Pro has gotten a minor upgrade, going from 2.4GHz to 2.6GHz, and the higher-end models received the same bump. A not-so-small improvement is the jump from 4GB to 8GB of RAM, a nice addition considering the product is still dropping £100 in price.

Depending on your needs, there are multiple configurations to look through beyond the entry level Macbook Pro, including the 2.8GHz processor, 512GB storage model for £1,399. The prices continue to climb for the more powerful hardware, each iterative improvement adding more than the previous level, but this has been the standard for years and the best deal depends on what you want from your laptop. Unlike some PC laptops, though, the Macbook Pro is not upgradable--you'll be stuck with what you get, so choose wisely.
There is no related price cut in the U.S. at this time, and this will likely represent the last changes to the 2014 version of this product. The rumored retina display resolution increase did not end up happening in this upgrade cycle, but expect one for the 2015 Macbook Pro.
