The first gameplay footage of NBA 2K15 was released today, giving fans their first glimpse of the next, great-looking basketball sim.
Football Manager 2015 Release Month Revealed, First Details Coming In October
Current NBA MVP (and 2K15 cover athlete) Kevin Durant first shared the footage on his Instagram account, making this one a pretty unique way to reveal the first glimpse of gameplay. The footage itself is all about Durant, rather than the usual montage of teams and highlights, and you can watch for yourself below.
It's a bit muted compared to what you might expect, serving as more of a teaser than anything, with Durant performing some low-key moves before slamming home a dunk. The October release date flashes, and you're offered the KD MVP Bonus Pack.

2K's NBA series has dominated basketball sims over the past few years, with EA's series struggling through development before being cancelled. It's back this year, however, and 2K will want to prove why its product is superior to fans who may be tempted by EA's offering. That said, the 2K series certainly won the war of brand recognition with a series of excellent releases, and is one of the better sports franchises out there--EA certainly has its work cut out with NBA Live 15.
The footage you see is from the PlayStation 4 version of the game, but current generation consoles are not new for 2K. 2K14 released on PS4 and Xbox One (and was one of the better-looking "next gen" launch titles, to boot) in addition to PS3 and Xbox 360--maybe the new consoles will receive an even larger graphics and features boost this time around.
