Dinosaur hunting action game and Kickstarter success story The Stomping Land has been baffling dedicated gamers for months now, but the elusive founder of developer SuperCrit maintains that the game is still on rails and headed toward completion.
Which Games Will Be Using The Unreal Engine 4?
In an interview with Kotaku, SuperCrit main developer Alex "Jig" Fundora said: "It has been quiet in The Stomping Land community but that is certainly not the case behind the scenes! The game is being moved to Unreal Engine 4 to take advantage of technical and creative opportunities, and while the game was so early in development, I didn't want to keep working for years with a game engine (UDK) that had officially lost support by Epic. [...] The move has put a bit of more work on my plate, but the already discovered opportunities using UE4 are exciting, and I'm confident fans will be satisfied with the long-run decision."
In a follow-up by Kotaku commenting on Jig's statement that "the community has been quiet" while the exact opposite is true, the developer did not respond and still hasn't for nearly a week now.
Unreal Engine Creators Epic Games Start UK Branch, Are Hiring
With a Kickstarter campaign that raised $114,060 in funds and a Steam Early Access version purchasable for €22.99, gamers are right to be worried about, if not a lack in actual advancement, at least a lack in any decent type of communications, especially with all the money that's already been poured in the project.
Have you bought the Early Access version or were you a Kickstarter contributor? What do you think of the non-communication that's been happening between devs and backers?
