2K Games has just announced that Bioshock is coming to iOS devices. This is the original title, a game that should need absolutely no introduction- it's still one of the best games of the last decade, a title whose influence on story and gameplay style is felt in every single first-person shooter made.
Bioshock Remade In Unreal Engine 4 Looks Awesome
Now it's being optimized for iOS devices. They're offering both optimized touch controls and full Made for iPhone (MFi) game controller support, for those of you who'd rather play the game a little more as it was intended.
As you can see from the screens, the quality of the game doesn't look quite up to its original version but it looks quite good. The full game will be offered but there's no word on if the Plasmic Pack DLC or Challenge Rooms (that were previously exclusive to the later PS3 edition) will be included.
Bioshock For PS Vita Would Have Been Final Fantasy Tactics-style, Turn-Based Strategy
Bioshock will be a premium priced title. 2K Games saw great success with XCOM: Enemy Unknown for iOS and that was priced at $20 when it was released, and they have faith that people will see the value in this title as well.
Good for them- for the future of mobile gaming it's important to prove that games will pay more than a buck or two for high-quality games, and by doing so with some of their most famous franchsises they're helping to lead the way for more superior titles to hit the platform. No word on just what Biochock's price will be but we would expect it to be between $10-$20.
You can also expect to see Bioshock hit the App Store very soon! There's no release date just yet but they're promising it for later this summer, of which there's not much time left.
