Square Enix Makes A Very Japanese Batman...
Square Enix today announced today a new limited edition for their upcoming Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5.ReMIX, a new remastered version of several games in the Kingdom Hearts franchise. Fans who pre-order the game at participating retailers (none announced as of yet) will receive a "free upgrade to the Limited Edition, which includes the exclusive Disney collectible pin featuring Sora and Mickey Mouse." The incentive is good as long as supplies last.
The exclusive Sora and Mickey pin is part of the Disney Pin Trading program, a long running barter economy where people trade, usually in Disney parks, pins with one another. Several hundred pins have been made over the years. The practice began in 1999, long before you could digitally pin anything.

Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX, in addition to being a somewhat unwieldy title to say, contains new versions of Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix, Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep Final Mix and Kingdom Hearts: Recoded.
While Kingdom Hearts III is coming eventually, Square Enix is focusing its attention on promoting the ReMIX. The PS3 game hits shelves on December 2 of this year, just in time for the holidays.
The newly released front of box package art is quite impressive and shows off a number of the multi-dimensional heroes and villains present in the game. A younger version of this writer would absolutely have it made onto a cloth scroll and hung up in his dorm room.
