German indie developer Niels Bauer has announced the release of a compilation of DLC background stories for Smugglers 5: Secession. In it, you'll start as a humble space pirate... er, trader, and work your way up to carving out a significant piece of the galaxy for yourself, even as you learn of your tragic backstory.

The DLC pack is named The Smuggler's Guild after the first of the three total stories. In the first episode, The Smugglers Guild, your trader father retires due to ill health, saying there's no money in honest trading anymore. It is up to you to start smuggling and mayhaps even join some sort of guild on the subject!
The second episode, Solomon's Treasure, has you searching the legendary treasure of pirate Solomon McTavish after your deadbeat dad died trying to get at it. What is it with this game and failure fathers? You are not the only party interested in a chest full of space dubloons, though!
Space Hulk: Deathwing Screens Released
In the final story, Thirst for Vengeance, you are a recent graduate of the space academy with a grudge as you hunt down the pirate raiders that killed your parents and kidnapped your sister as a child. Maybe she's the pirate queen now, player character! Process that!
