Super Smash Bros Recap Of Latest Updates Including New Fire Emblem Characters And Captain Falcon

The Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS details have been consistently coming from Nintendo ahead of the release of both versions, especially after an exciting E3. The game will be out on October 3 for 3DS and this holiday season on Wii U, though we'll likely have to wait for winter to approach for a specific release date.

Nintendo revealed multiple new playable characters during and after its E3 Digital Event, introducing four fighters that include three Super Smash Bros debutants. It looks like Mr. Game & Watch is returning alongside newcomers Pac-man, Lady Palutena from Kid Icarus, and the customizable Mii Fighters. Since then, we've been shown a variety of new details, ranging from stages to character costumes.

There was a wide variety of information this week from the daily updates, and since Nintendo does not post on the weekend, it's a good time to review what we were shown over the last few days.

Destiny Beta Experiences Launch Issues, Now Relatively Smooth Sailing

This week began with series director Masahiro Sakurai--who chooses what to post for all of the daily updates--showing off a Rayman trophy. With a character reveal looming, it seemed like Rayman was a likely candidate for the new challenger, but that was not the case. Instead, three new characters were revealed: the returning Captain Falcon and two new Fire Emblem fighters, Robin and Lucina.

The newcomers were shown off extensively for the rest of the week, with a reveal trailer, bonus images, and a close look at Robin's fighting style--particular the Levin sword, which will eventually break and then recover.

The week was then rounded out by two unrelated reveals--the 3DS stage Living Room (also featuring a Nintendogs cat) and a look at K.O.s, which changed slightly in a way that effects gameplay. More details will continue to be revealed next week, so keep checking back for Super Smash Bros information.
