The Destiny beta will finally arrive today, with Bungie set to launch the new playable build on PlayStation 4 and PS3--here's what to expect.

The beta will go live on PSN at 10 a.m. PT, 1 p.m Eastern. Microsoft's consoles won't be getting the beta until July 24, while the full version Destiny on PS4 and PS3 will receive exclusive content for a limited time before it hits Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
As for the beta itself, details emerged recently indicating what we can expect it to contain. The alpha offered a limited portion of the campaign, while the competitive multiplayer 'Crucible' only boasted two maps to choose from.

The beta will consist of four story chapters, which should provide plenty of hours of gameplay and give us a better look at what to expect from the campaign. I personally came away disappointed from what I played of the alpha's campaign segments, so hopefully the content is more entertaining this time around.
The multiplayer will include four maps this time, which should make it less monotonous when you're grinding out hours in the Crucible. The competitive modes were a lot of fun, and new maps are certainly welcome.
If you didn't get a chance to try the alpha, the multiplayer is similar to that of Bungie's well-known Halo franchise, offering a mix of smaller and larger areas--some with vehicles--in which to kill your opponents or complete objectives. The campaign is a Borderlands-style experience, killing waves of enemies and leveling your character. If you were lucky enough to get a code, you can input it on Bungie.net and get started at 1 p.m. ET.
