Neversoft Logo Burned By Tony Hawk As Studio Shuts Down: See The Logo Evolution From 'THPS' To 'Underground 2' [VIDEO]

Neversoft Has One Hell Of A Closing Party

It's always sad to see a studio shut down, but sometimes they go out in style. Legendary Tony Hawk and Guitar Hero development house Neversoft burned an effigy of their logo outside their building, handing out a pretty cool going away present to every single employee.

GameStop Wants To Get Into Developing

Anyone who's ever played a Tony Hawk or Guitar Hero game (or those happy few like me who have very fond memories of Gun) will have shed a (wo)manly tear at developer Neversoft's recent merger with Infinity Ward. But Neversoft themselves are taking it all with good grace and humor like the cheeky chaps they are. Employees have tweeted out a pretty awesome image: the Neversoft eyeball burning on a barbecue.

On top of that, every employee got an awesome Bowie knife with "Neversoft" engraved upon it. If they ever run afoul of a tyrannical Washington sheriff, they will let that bastard know they were responsible for coding the yellow ring finger button on Guitar Hero 3 or the exclusive Spider-Man skin from Tony Hawk 2. They didn't want this war, but they'll bring a war he wouldn't believe! Or, far more likely, all these lovely and talented people will think back fondly to their good-natured days at Neversoft thanks to these lovely, hopefully soon-to-be-encased mementoes of their time spent there.

Cliffy B's New Game Codenamed BlueStreak

Hey, how about an impromptu paragraph-long wistful retro-review of Gun for PS2? The open-world aspect of the game hurt quite a bit since there was very little to do, the world was simply too small, and once you finished the main storyline you could do nothing but ride around and hope some random bandits would attack you so you could... well, do something. But the voice cast was aces, and the quick-draw system was really cool, especially coupled with the damage model (for its day). Do you also look at Monument Valley with a heavy heart, longing for a return of Thomas Jane's Colton White? Thomas Jane probably does!

For now, look back on the evolution of the always-entertaining Neversoft Logo.
