If you're excited for some the chance at some social driving but haven't bought a PS4 yet, the official Playstation blog has some good news for you.
Pre-Order Goodies For DRIVECLUB revealed
From developer Evolution Studios comes DRIVECLUB, a co-op team racing game on the PS4 that looks absolutely gorgeous. Gorgeous enough to make it a real flagship title, Sony decided, and now you'll be able to buy it in a bundle with the console itself for a recommended retail price of €439.99 or around $600. This bundle will include the PS4, DRIVECLUB and a Dual Shock 4.
Furthermore, PlayStation has released a few videos to their blog explaining some pretty intriguing new game features. DRIVECLUB is not just about winning races, it's full of different achievements you and your team of real-life friends (I like the example team name in the first video - "Spoiler Alert") can get, and issue challenges to other teams you might designate nemesis. For instance, really nailing one turn could cause your Fame to go up significantly, even if you totally end up last. The XP-like resource is then shared between team-mates so everyone benefits.
DRIVECLUB Release Date Revealed
I'm not a big racing game guy, but I like the idea of this social element. My dad was always a huge fan of the Gran Turismo games on our old PS2. It was one of the few games that could glue him to the screen for hours on end. Could this game bring me, casual racer that I am, and him, the hardcore simulation guy, together behind a console? That'd be cool!
