Bethesda Softworks is teaming up with the American Red Cross to establish 'The Good Within' Blood Drive at this year's QuakeCon in Dallas, Texas.

You heard that right, a blood drive. The effort is two fold, one: the country needs blood and two: to promote the upcoming survival horror game The Evil Within from Bethesda. All donors will receive a free The Evil Within chill pack for their time and sweet, sweet blood. Who said evil can't do some good?
"QuakeCon has a great group of attendees who we think will want to help the community by donating blood," said Pete Hines , VP of PR and Marketing, Bethesda Softworks. "The American Red Cross is a terrific organization, and we're thrilled to welcome them to QuakeCon."

"The Red Cross is grateful for Bethesda Softworks' invitation to host a blood drive during such a critical time," said Jan Hale, External Communications Manager at the American Red Cross. "The summer months are a particularly difficult period for blood collections and being a part of this event gives us more opportunities to help save lives."
As per ARC rules, all donors must be 17 years of age or older and meet all the requirements of blood donation. So if you've been to the Congo in the last few months, you probably can't donate. The full list of dos and don'ts can be found here.
Attendees who would like to donate can sign up with American Red Cross representatives in the Topaz room l during blood drive hours: Friday, July 18, 2014 11 am - 5 pm and Saturday, July 19, 2014 11 am - 5 pm.
Donating blood is one of the easiest, most helpful things one can do. Your body will just make more, it's quite literally, giving something of yourself away for the best of reasons. QuakeCon is a free to attend event, let your own blood be the price of admission.
