The final version of Project Spark has been given official release dates in multiple regions, hitting Windows 8.1 and Xbox One on October 7 in North America, October 9 in Asia-Pacific countries, and October 10 in Europe.

The game-creation title has been available in various beta forms on Windows and Microsoft's console, but is now set for full public release. Project Spark allows you to create game worlds with their own mechanics and characters, and then experience them for yourself, like a digital sandbox.
It's free on both platforms, but can be purchased as a physical edition for Xbox One with premium paid content for $39.99. This Project Spark Starter Pack includes the first sci-fi pack Galaxies: First Contact, the warrior champion Sir Haakon "Hawk" the Knight, "Champions Quest: Void Storm, which is the first episode of an epic campaign adventure, and more. This content will be available to purchase digitally on launch for both Windows 8.1 and Xbox One.

The beta has been running since December 2013, and the October 7 launch will represent the final shift into a full release. The beta is still available for free on both systems if you want to give it a try, and those playing will be happy to know their credits, creations and favorite levels will transfer to the full version (the beta will simply be updated).
