While World Cup fever is definitely in full swing, HBO's Game of Thrones has wrapped up for the season, making fans wait until next year for its return.

Fortunately, Spanish designer Nerea Palacio has combined the two phenomena, creating a set of Game of Thrones-themed football kits. She posted the designs on her Tumblr page and Twitter account, both titled "I Want To Work For Nike", making no secret of her aspirations as a designer.
These types of projects are always fun for fans, even if they won't be used in any real product. Made more as a showcase of her design skills, I think Palacio created pretty tasteful, minimal kits that incorporate the themes and colors of the Game of Thrones houses.

"I'm a big fan of Game of Thrones and of football, and I had done all the World Cup kits and was looking for something fresh that hasn't been done before," she told The Guardian. "So it allowed me some freedom.
"I tried to focus on the Houses and not in the characters. Maybe the Baratheons are more complicated since every one of them seem to be really creative with the Crests and family colors."
The Baratheon, Lannister, and Targaryen designs are favorites of mine, not going overboard with the themes and symbols while looking pretty striking. Palacio didn't only create these Game of Throne-themed shirts, but plenty of her own designs for clubs and national teams around the world--even ones that do not have their outfits produced by Nike.
Some of the designs are certainly better than what I've seen in reality, suggesting that she may perhaps one day land a job at Nike or another major company based on her skills.
