New 'Godzilla' PS3 Game Coming Exclusive To Japan, Trailer Highlights Bandai Namco's Old School Kaiju Action Title [VIDEO]

Good News: 'Godzilla' Game Coming! Bad News: Exclusively on PS3 In Japan!

Not content to simply unleash a devastatingly large amount of destruction on the world in theaters, Bandai Namco is excited to bring the world's most popular kaiju, Godzilla to your PS3.

A Godzilla Sequel Is Happening!

Slated for a winter release in Japan, the new Godzilla game will focus primarily on Godzilla as he looked in the old Toho films from the 50s and 60s. Though 2014 Godzilla will be making an appearance, according to Siliconera "the game is being developed with fans who are in their 20s and 30s who grew up watching the Godzilla Vs. series in the 90s." Which, if you have not seen any of, you simply, simply must.

The 1998 Roland Emmerich Godzilla will, thankfully, not be included.

Godfire: Rise of Prometheus Review

The game will put you in control of Godzilla as he goes about his day, knocking down buildings like it ain't no thing, swatting away those pesky humans and other Godzilla related things. No word yet on which of Godzilla's enemies will be making an appearance, because while I understand the appeal of romping around downtown Tokyo as, quite literally 'a lizard god', there's not all that much tension when very little can hurt me.

The came is being developed with the help of SH Monster Arts, who will be supplying the 3D Skins and creature models for old Goddy.

"According to Famitsu, Siliconera reports, Godzilla is being made with the atmosphere, dynamic camera angles and explosions that were iconic in the older movies, which will be brought out using the latest graphic technologies, so it'll feel as if you have full control of the old school films."

This will be the first Godzilla game from Namco since the golden days of the Game Boy.

You can watch the mysterious, atmospheric trailer below. Here's hoping that Godzilla will hit the American seaboard soon!
