The Last of Us Remastered has been given an unexpected price drop, with the title falling from $60 to $50, Sony has announced.

Anyone who pre-ordered the title already will get a $10 refund--a good but expected gesture. If it was not made (even though it goes against PSN's 'no refunds' policy), a fairly justifiable uproar would likely occur, turning what should be a good occurrence for consumers into some feeling cheated.
Sony's VP of Developer & Publisher Relations Adam Boyes explained on Twitter that the refund should automatically go through within the next five to seven business days. However, he was unable to clear up whether the refund will be in real dollars (back to the card you used to pay, etc) or in PSN money.

One user mentioned he had no credit card tied to the account, but Boyes did not know how he would be refunded. It will be unfortunate for fans who would rather have the money back in their banks than their PSN accounts, but is certainly better than no refund--I would imagine most people will spend the $10 on PSN eventually with so many Sony platforms currently active.
The Last of Us Remastered is a remake of the critically acclaimed PS3 title featuring improved graphics running on PS4 in 1080p at 60fps. It is currently set for release in just over a month, on July 29.
