Wargaming, who brought not one but two tanks to E3 this year, is looking to dominate the tablet and smartphone market with their own brand of tank mayhem. And they're doing it much sooner than anticipated.
Legend of Zelda: Unbound King Will Let You Explore Hyrule Like Never Before
The company announced that its latest, World of Tanks Blitz will be hitting iOS tablets (iPad 2 and newer) and smartphones (iPhone 4s and newer) on June 26, about two weeks away! Two weeks!
First revealed in March 2013, World of Tanks Blitz is Wargaming's first project for smartphones and tablets. The game amassed over 150,000 applications within the first week of Closed Beta Signup and entered soft launch in Nordic countries on May 5, 2014. During soft launch, World of Tanks Blitz received an average score of 4.5 on the App Store, climbed to Top 3 Overall in that region and saw an average of 70 minutes spent in game by every player.
No Man's Sky Will Show You A Universe Of Possibilities
"We are thrilled to finally give players a release date for World of Tanks Blitz," said Andrey Ryabovol, Director of Global Operations at Wargaming. "Following the successful soft launch, we are now putting final touches on the game. We're really excited about how well World of Tanks Blitz has turned out and can't wait for players to get their hands on it and engage in tank combat wherever they may go."
The game derives its best traits from the original World of Tanks title, introducing an impressive park of vehicles from several tankbuilding superpowers that include agile light tanks, well-rounded medium tanks, powerful heavy tanks, and intimidating tank destroyers. Each class has a set of multiple features, giving unique playing style to every model.
Blitz will feature over 90 tanks from across four separate factions and will let players compete in 7v7 battlegrounds. Since this is Wargaming, expect many more tanks and new features to be released as the months roll by. You can learn more about World of Tanks Blitz on the official site here.
Do get a chance to stop by the Wargaming booth if you're at E3. I am literally not joking about them having tanks there.
