Big sports day for Electronic Arts. In addition to EA Sports UFC and FIFA, arguably the publisher's bread and butter was also on hand at this year's E3 -- Madden NFL 15. It was only last week that we got our first peek at the game in action, but now we have a much better look at the title, due out this fall.

No doubt EA has worked on a number of features, but they're taking their sweet time to highlight each part individually, and during E3, the new defensive mechanics took center stage.
Trying to stop the offense from scoring was a big issue with Madden NFL 25, so for Madden NFL 15 (funny how odd that sounds), EA changed up quite a few features, like camera angles.

They're also giving players more leeway when it comes to blocking, letting them determine where to push opponents, but the biggest switch is the introduction of a new tiered tackling system, allowing players to determine what type of tackle to use for any given situation.
Still, it wasn't all about the new defensive options. We also learned that the game will feature new player emotions and reactions, that will play out in real time. Check out the video below for how Madden 15 will give players "more control on defense than ever before."
I understand EA has a lot on its plate, but it was a bit bizarre that they only used a very brief moment of their time at E3 on one of its flagship series. Ah well, such is life. I'm sure we'll have a whole summer full of Madden previews.
Madden NFL 15 hits the field on August 26 in North America, and August 29 in Europe. It will release on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and the PlayStation 3.
