Action shooter MMO Defiance, based on the popular SyFy show, is going "NSFW": Now Safe For Wallets. The sci-fi game, which takes place concurrently alongside the television show, has gone free to play on the PC, while the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions will also go free-to-play starting July 15. There's no better time to get in on the epic tv/game crossover and become an ark hunter than right now.

In addition, the free to play "NSFW" patch will also update the game slightly, allowing players to purchase a Paradise Patron in the in-game store, which offers a XP, Loot and Skill boosts, among others, to all players. What exactly is a Paradise Patron? I have no idea. I really need to at least start watching the show, especially now that both Being Human and Warehouse 13 are off the air.
The Defiance MMO has been cooly received since its release last year slightly ahead of the debut of the show. The game's developer Trion Worlds has spent a lot of money on the game (as has Syfy on the show) and doubtless hopes to attract more players with the new free to play model.
The Stand, Stephen King Film Adaptation, Is Moving Forward Again
I must say that the trailer gets me deeply interested in playing the game. It's a sarcastic, violent, often funny short film highlighting the tone of the series, which doesn't take itself too seriously. I can appreciate that.
