'Madden 15' News: First Screenshot Is In, Features 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick [IMAGE, VIDEO]

Colin Kaepernick Stars In The First Pic For Madden NFL 15

He may not make the cover, but it seems like EA Sports wants to make Colin Kaepernick a star anyway. At least, a bigger one than he is now. The first screenshot for Madden NFL 15 was released today, featuring none other than the San Francisco 49ers quarterback.

Winners for First Round of Madden NFL 15 Cover Vote Revealed

Granted, it's only one shot, but it features some pretty intricate detail. Look closely, and you'll notice ripples in the jersey, the way it fits over the padding, the tiny bits of shading, the sheen on the helmet. You can even make out the tattoos on his arms, and Kaepernick's digital face scan looks pretty damn accurate.

Even with the game's cover vote in full swing, EA has been surprisingly tight lipped about any new features for the game, or old features for that matter. To date, they've only promised the "most immersive defensive gameplay control in franchise history."

Best Buy Has Madden 13 Getting a Violent Upgrade

With E3 around the corner, the pic is a nice tease for the upcoming Madden title. I can only imagine what Electronic Arts will have in store for E3, but expect more alongside games like EA Sports UFC.

As for the cover vote, it's at the final round. You have 'til tomorrow to make your decision between Seattle Seahawks Cornerback Richard Sherman, or Carolina Panthers Quarterback Cam Newton. Newton beat out Pittsburgh Steeler Antonio Brown, KC Chief Jamaal Charles, and Colt QB Andrew Luck, while Sherman's been victorious against Bears' receiver Alshon Jeffery, Saints Tight End Jimmy Graham, and Colin Kaepernick.

Madden NFL 15 hits the field later this summer, August 26 in North America, and August 29 in Europe. It will release on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and the PlayStation 3.
