It's a good news bad news situation for Batman: Arkham Knight today. First, the bad...
While a number of retailers had the game listed for an October release, developer Rocksteady's Marketing Manager Guy Perkins revealed at a recent press event that Arkham Knight won't see the light of day until 2015 at the earliest. As the closeout to the Arkham series, Perkins explained that more time was needed to make the game the "best possible experience."
"We just want to make the best experience we possibly can and we need more time to do that," said Perkins. "I think what we've shown so far is a super ambitious project and we just want to make sure we are giving Batman fans and gamers the best Batman experience that we can possibly deliver and that just takes time. I think we would be doing fans a disservice if we didn't spend the time on the title. We just want it to be really great."
But Perkins knew quite well what he was doing, because he chose to share this new information alongside a teaser reveal of the game's multiplayer mode, the "Batmobile Battle" mode.
If you thought that Arkham Knight's tank of a batmobile was bad ass before...Check out the screenshots for the stats on the kind of offensive hardware this thing is carrying.
Batman's definitely stepped up his game, but if he's packing this kind of artillery, that begs the question, just what are the enemies bringing to the table?
You can watch the complete trailer below. The mode's full reveal is set for this year's E3, which kicks off next week.
