Family Guy: The Quest For Stuff- One Of The Funniest F2P Games Ever Made [REVIEW]
When you update the game you'll learn that a pyramid has appeared in the Northern part of Quahog, in what used to be a forest. Peter is hungover and only remembers seeing Cleveland last night- he's here, somewhere, but you have to find him. To do that you'll need to put your characters to work!
The update offers up new limited-time currency that lets you unlock exclusive objects. Once again the Family Guy has cribbed from The Simpsons: Tapped Out, which has had success with events based on Christmas, Valentine's Day, and, of course, Wacking Day. In those events you collect a new item in order get exclusive, themed objects. It was enourmously fun to collect snakes and collect new characters and buildings based on Wacking Day and here in Family Guy: The Quest For Stuff it's much the same. Since this is Indiana Jones-themed you're collecting idols, which are gold butts with wings, because of course they are.
Adam West Runs For Mayor. Seriously.
Here are all the things you will earn just by collecting idols. To make sure you get all these items in time make sure you the actions you set each character to perform are ones that offer idols alongside the usual money and XP. Not all characters have actions that give you idols, but some characters have outfits that offer even more idols. The costumes that offer 2X idols are:
- S and M Louis
- Mermaid Peter
- Goth Chris
Cleveland will appear along with the Quahog Egyptian Museum after you've completed a few quests, but he won't just be available to you just like that. Cleveland is in a jam, trapped in quicksand and unable to get out without your help. The only way to rescue him is to unlock Adventure Peter and make him Whip It. Obviously a version (a fat version) of Indiana Jones, this outfit also requires a whole mess of stuff to unlock. You'll need 1250 idols, 25 snakes (even though he probably hates them), ten guns and ten whips. It's easier to get the guns and whips from a couple of marketplace stalls that you can buy from the store, but they cost premium currency (clams).
Cleveland then requires even more to be saved- 10 canteens, 25 inner tubes, five bathtubs and 3,000 idols, alongside Adventure Peter whipping it. He's going to be in that quicksand for quite some time before you get to him,
There are a number of other limited-time quests and objects to purchase as well, another place to put your hard-earned idols into. Here are the new buildings and decorations you can buy-
- Large Magma Shrine (400 clams, drops idols)
- Medium Magma Shrine (200 clams, drops idols)
- Small Magma Shrine (75 clams, drops idols)
- Exotic Snack Stall (25 clams, drops snakes)
- Adventurer's Bazaar (100 clams, drops guns)
- Antiquities Bazaar (150 clams, drops whips)
- Desert Oasis (15.000 idols)
- Lotus Pond (20,000 idols)
- Bubbling Lava Fence (150 idols, decoration)
- Baby Palm Tree (250 idols, decoration)
- Tiki Torch (250 idols, decoration)
- Crown Canopy Tree (500 idols, decoration)
Probably the coolest, however, is the Evil Monkey Statue, which will run you 10,000 idols.
One of the first quests that will appear involves Chris and is called Giant Boob, in which he sees something quite different in the pyramid and spends some alone time. Expect many more ridiculous quests to come after you've unlocked Cleveland- just don't leave him hanging too long or you might never get him out.
