The latest entry into the Anomaly series of games from developer 11bitstudios, Anomaly Defenders, has been released today on Steam and Games Republic, and with it comes a shiny new launch trailer showcasing some of the interstellar tower defense you will be engaging in.

Defenders puts you in command of an alien army tasked with defending the home world against the human invaders. I guess they got all pissy during the last games when you, the alien, came and tried to conquer the earth. Psh, humans, amirite? Always so emotional about things like 'extraterrestrial invasion' and 'mass extinction'.
The game features a deep tech and upgrade tree, allowing you to customize your strategy to suit your play style. The graphics are glorious and the action is a beautiful cacophony of cosmic mayhem and destruction. Fans of tower defense, like me, should definitely give the game a look see. With 24 levels, the game is sure to keep you busy for a good long while.

If you purchase the game from Games Republic, the bundled version also contains Anomaly 2, which puts you in either the shoes of humanity as you desperately try to stave off the alien invasion, or makes you the alien oppressor. The game is one of the first 'tower offense' games, which puts players into the role of the poor mobs who got annihilated by the towers.
