Nintendo and Best Buy are teaming up to give fans a chance to play the new Super Smash Bros. title for Wii U before its release date.
Recap Of The Latest Super Smash Bros. Reveals Can Be Found Here
On June 11 from 4 to 9 p.m. and June 14 from 12 to 5 p.m., more than 100 Best Buy locations in the U.S. will host a fan event called "Super Smash Bros. Smash-Fest at Best Buy", which will give players their chance to try the title.
There is no official release date for the game yet, but Nintendo is expected to give one during E3, which will take place before the Best Buy events. The 3DS version of the title is due out sometime this summer, while the Wii U edition will hit during the winter. Nintendo posts daily updates about the title via the game's site in the form of a new picture that usually focuses on a previously unseen feature, item, or character.
Check Out The Details For The Super Smash Bros. E3 Tournament
The demo that will be available in stores (a full list of the participating locations can be found here) will be the same build used at the upcoming E3 tournament, which will be our first look at live gameplay. Nintendo recently announced details for the tournament, which will be played by "high-skilled" invitees in front of a crowd of fans.
The demo will offer full four-player action, though I imagine some aspects of the title will be limited. The roster hasn't been fully revealed yet, so the playable build will likely feature a limited selection from the characters we've already been told about. If you're interested in trying the game early, be sure to check your region via the link above to see if your local Best Buys will be taking part in the event.
