The next Lego title from TT Games and Warner Bros. Interactive has been announced today, with Batman 3: Beyond Gotham taking the caped crusader and friends to space.

A trailer was released to announce the title, which only consists of a comedic pre-rendered scene focusing on Batman and Superman rather than any gameplay. The title will take place in outer space, with Batman donning a special flight suit to survive and fight in the environment.
Based on the teaser, the title will unsurprisingly be keeping the humorous tone found in the other Lego video games, making light of the usually-serious Batman and rest of the DC Comics cast. Wonder Woman, The Flash, Robin, and a few others make a cameo, implying a likely return for most characters as part of the playable roster.

In fact, Warner Bros promises a staggeringly large cast of more than 150 unique characters that you can unlock, including some from the Justice League and Lego universe. Some famous villains will be playable as well, not just the traditional superheroes.
The plot revolves around stopping Braniac, who is seeking to destroy Earth and shrink cities around the universe for a collection using the Lantern Rings. Players will travel to other Lantern Worlds to gather rings themselves in order to stop the supervillain. Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham will be available in the fall on Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PS3, Vita, Wii U, 3DS and PC.
