AwesomeBlade has announced via Steam today that their hugely popular retro game 8BitBoy has undergone several major updates and is, according to the developers, "a whole new game, a better game."
Whispering Willows, Indie OUYA and Steam Game, Gets A Release
From the press release: "Feedback from users and testers has helped to improve everything from player mechanics and physics to difficulty level and logic. Together with these tweaks 8BitBoy has been updates with new and improved animation and graphics throughout the whole game." The big patch, 1.40, dropped this weekend and added:
New and completely rebuild player psychics. Much more responsive thus substantially lowering difficulty.
Player acceleration and deceleration more snappy. Improved visual effects on enemies and player.
Kids these days, right? Back in my day, if a retro, sprite filled platformer shipped with bugs and was, perhaps too difficult, then we just had to deal with it and power through. But noooo...Steam has spoiled these modern punks, by "listening to them" and "taking their feedback". We got we got and we liked it. If I wanted to listen to someone, I'd just get a girlfriend and who has time for that, really?
