Kim Jong Un has had many adjectives ascribed to him: crazy, powerful, eccentric; but none cut straight to the heart of the man better than "glorious". Now, indie American games company Moneyhorse Games has paid tribute to the man, the myth, the glorious legend, by creating Glorious Leader!, a side-scrolling shoot-em-up reminiscent of Contra.
Flappy Bird Returns to Mobile Devices in August
In the game, players assume the role of Kim Jong Un himself as he singlehandedly defeats the army of those capitalistic American pig dogs with a comic array of weaponry and, naturally, a fiery unicorn. Only the finest of things for the finest of men.
Joining Kim in his conquest of the West is none other than Kim's best pal in the whole world, former Chicago Bull Dennis Rodman. Clearly, Rodman's team up with Van Damme was just a warm up to the main event.
Jeff Miller, CEO of Moneyhorse games, said in an interview with The Guardian says he "wanted to find a new way to tell the country's story, and to get people across the world talking about the secretive nation." South Koreans, the North's much calmer younger sibling, are already clamoring for the game.
No official release date has been given for the game as of yet, though "sometime at the end of 2014" is what Moneyhorse is predicting. The game will be available for PC and mobile platforms, primarily on Android operating systems. No word on whether it will be coming to the App Store on iOS but Miller is not confident that Apple will host it.
Retro games are all the rage nowadays, North Korea is never not in the news. Moneyhorse Games may have found the perfect lightning in a bottle moment. Complete with unicorns.
