After all those behind the scenes looks, a new trailer is out from Titanfall publisher EA, finally showing off some actual gameplay for the game's upcoming DLC Expedition map pack, instead of just screenshots and concept art.
New Screens Show Off Titanfall's DLC Maps: Swamplands, and War Games from Upcoming Expedition Pack
The trailer starts off with a look at Swampland, where the lush jungle's floor is just as dangerous as the treetop canopies, which provides crackshots with an excellent aerial view, all while the jungle fog provides snipers with some halfway decent cover. Even if you're no sniper, you can make like a monkey through the treetops and even dangle from the limbs, making yourself a hard target, Van Damme style. Level designer Chris Dionne Level wrote that the map's towering flora "were a blast! Titans dodging around massive trunks; Pilots jumping from tree-to-tree like ninjas. All that additional infrastructure had pulled players away from this new and interesting fun that was happening around (and on!) the trees."
From the jungle, we move on to Runoff, consisting of three different levels to keep players on their toes. Described Runoff's designer Geoff Smith, "The core concept of the level is multiple layers of paths: concrete canals filled with water and trash below, and upper levels that are cleaner and more industrial. I thought the canals would be cool for Titans to fight in, with Pilots able to jump across them. I also set out to make more choke points in the level, something that is pretty hard to do in our game, at least for Pilots with their enhanced mobility."

Smith continued: "At the heart of Runoff are three main buildings. The largest is the main building housing two large inlet tubes in the center of it. The others are all connected with sky-bridges and running billboards. The trench below these buildings is the central artery of the entire map. If your Titan falls down into these trenches, you will have to travel back to either end of the map to find a ramp back up. The trenches also serve to help you escape quickly when your Titan gets into an unwinnable fight." So keep that in mind when the DLC releases.
Finally, the video moves on to a look at War Games, a Matrix styled simulation that, while smooth looking, is no slouch in terms of challenge. Described as a wall runner's haven, this map is all for pilots, barely letting the bulky titans fit through. Designer Jason McCord wrote of the map, "Designers imagined a level that was smooth, clean and abstract - a perfect place to design easy-to-read battle spaces and wallrun paths. Artists had images of differently themed areas mixed with digital artifacts and colorful lighting. The concept maintained throughout development was 'parkour playground.'" However, this comes at a trade-off, as there's no real hiding spots for pilots, meaning they'll have to keep moving at all times until they can get into a titan for some cover.

An exact date for Expedition hasn't been provided yet, but is expected to launch for Xbox One and PC later this month, and hit the Xbox 360 in June. Players can grab the map pack for $10 whenever it does release, while Season Pass holders get it at no additional cost.
