We've been teased about Marvel characters making their way to Disney Infinity for a couple of weeks now, and Disney even accidentally leaked a launch window a couple of weeks ago.
Well, now we know exactly what's going down with the newest title. It will indeed be called Disney Infinity 2.0, and it will feature Marvel superheroes. During a livestream today, Infinity developer Avalanche talked about the new title.
There will be a new starter pack, which comes with the Marvel Manhattan playset (complete with Stark Tower). The figures coming with the new starter pack will be Thor, Iron Man and Black Widow, as well as two power discs and Kotaku has the report:
"Along with the new figures, all of the figures and power discs from the first Disney Infinity will be compatible with Disney Infinity Marvel Superheroes, and all Toy Box content created in the first game will work in the second as well. All new and existing characters will be able to reach level 20, and a new upgrade tree system will give players some choice in how they progress."
Other new figures available will be Captain America, Hawkeye and Hulk, with more to come. According to IGN, Guardians of the Galaxy's Rocket Raccoon and Groot will be available, and other Marvel characters Spider-Man, Winter Solider, Loki and MODOK will also make appearances.
It's all very exciting, although there does not seem to be a release date associated with the game. If the earlier leak is to be believed, the game should be debuting in August for all of the systems that Infinity appeared on, plus PS4 and Xbox One. Check out the launch trailer below!
