BioWare just released a new major update for "Dragon Age: The Veilguard" that fans believe is the last for the fantasy RPG as the studio aims to shift to focus on other projects.

The latest update includes a variety of bug fixes and comes only three months after the fantasy RPG originally released last year. However, what makes fans believe that it could be the last major update is a post on the game's official website.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard's Major Update

The post read, "Thank you all for playing 'Dragon Age: The Veilguard;' we were so happy with the game's stability at launch and hope you have enjoyed our Quality of Life patches since then."

It added that with the game being in such a stable place, the developers are now moving to monitor it for any game-breaking bugs. The post ended with the phrase "Dareth shiral!" which means "farewell" in the language of the "Dragon Age" franchise, according to Insider Gaming.

The idea that BioWare and Electronic Arts are now stepping back from fully supporting the latest entry in the franchise is no surprise to fans. This is because the publisher recently confirmed that "Dragon Age: The Veilguard" failed to meet initial expectations by 50% in the first three months.

The latest major update for the game includes one quality-of-life change, where recommended levels were added to side quests that players could receive at significantly lower levels. On top of this, the bug fixes include an issue where Rook could only flirt with Lucanis in a specific conversation.

End of Full Support

Additionally, game director Corinne Busche released a statement that was published last week where she talked about her exit from BioWare. There were no large updates that were expected to come to "Dragon Age: The Veilguard," Eurogamer said.

Furthermore, the developer had already ruled out the idea of future DLC for the latest entry in the franchise. Some players have been looking forward to a potential New Game Plus mode and other cosmetic options for character clothing designs.

"Dragon Age: The Veilguard" is the newest entry in BioWare's fantasy RPG series in the last decade. The main issue that a lot of players have with it, which contributed to its less than stellar performance commercially, is its attempts at inclusivity.

One of the signs that the game was slowly withering away was that it got a major discount a month after it launched. Additionally, the departure of Busche was nothing short of a disaster, according to IGN.
