Capcom revealed that they will release a second open beta period for "Monster Hunter Wilds" in February 2025 that will not include improvements based on player feedback from last year's open beta.

The studio announced that there will be two open beta periods this time around that are spread across multiple weekends. Both of these "Monster Hunter Wilds" beta will be playable for free and accessible on PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.

Monster Hunter Wilds' Second Open Beta

They will include everything that was showcased during the open beta that was held in November 2024 but will also include a new monster, the Gypceros bird wyvern. The first half of the February 2025 open beta will be from Feb. 6, 2025, to Fen. 9, 2025.

On the other hand, the second half will be held from Feb. 13, 2025, to Feb. 16, 2025, which is about two weeks from the game's official launch. Just like last year's open beta test, players will not need to have PlayStation Plus or Game Pass Core subscriptions to play online with other people, according to Kotaku.

The studio also noted that the open betas scheduled next month were designed to give more players a chance to try out "Monster Hunter Wilds," especially if they missed the one in November 2024.

Capcom said that it had learned a lot from player feedback from last year, but it has not incorporated any changes in the February 2025 open beta tests. It noted that improvements, including performance, game balance, weapon mechanics, and other known issues, will not be reflected in the second open beta.

Give More Players a Chance To Play

The open beta lets players start from the beginning of the story after they create their own character, which can be transferred to the full game later next month. Players will also be able to undertake the Slay Doshaguma Quest, IGN said.

The studio added that players who played the first open beta last year will be able to transfer their character to the second open beta and then to the full game. However, game progress will not be carried over, and you will still have to start from the beginning when the game actually comes out.

Another reward for playing the open beta is special bonuses that players can redeem in the full game, including a decorative charm item that can be attached to your weapon. There is also an item pack that gives some useful early-game stuff.

Capcom added that the second open beta test for "Monster Hunter Wilds" will also give players a chance to play additional quests. However, the studio said that it will announce more details about these at a later date, according to ESPN.
