With more than 100 bosses throughout all of its chapters, "Black Myth: Wukong" offers a legendary challenge to all would-be heroes on their journey to fame and fortune.

One of the final bosses that you can encounter in the game is the Stone Monkey, which is considered to be the first phase of the final boss fight. However, this particular foe can still catch you off guard and finish you off if you are not careful.

This guide offers some general tips and tricks that you should keep in mind during the fight to increase your chances of victory. There are also some general recommendations on what you should bring to the fight.

How To Find the Stone Monkey

To encounter this particular boss in "Black Myth: Wukong," you will have to go beyond the clearing where you fought the Son of Stones. In this area, you will see a giant rock that has golden trees on either side of it, and you should go left, according to IGN.

You will then come upon a waterfall far in the distance that has an archway right before it. You need to go there and find a way inside. When you are in this area, you will automatically dismount from the cloud and be in the Water Curtain Cave.

Go up the slope and head to the cliff's edge before running and jumping across the gap to get to the path that is slightly below you. Doing this will get you behind the waterfall. Go to the other side of the cave, where you see a lamp glowing, and follow the path to the next section until you find a taller waterfall, which is when you turn left.

You will then find a massive staff in the center of a room that will trigger a cutscene when you interact with it. After this, head to the back of the cave ahead and toward the peak, where you will find the Return Path Keeper's Shrine.

Be ready, as you will have to face several groups of Warriors before you get to the Peak of Innocence Shrine. Ahead of this area is a large boulder that you can interact with to get to the Birthstone region, which is where the Stone Monkey boss is located, Rock Paper Shotgun said.

How To Defeat the Stone Monkey

First things first, the recommended level before starting this particular fight in "Black Myth: Wukong" is level 90. This ensures that you are strong enough to deal with the boss' attacks and are experienced enough to figure out its behavior.

However, if you have good investments in the Foundation talent tree, you can get by in facing off against this enemy even at level 80. This is especially true if you have the Wukong's set equipped.

During the first phase, the Stone Monkey has two main attacks that it will use to damage you: a multi-hit slash strike and a lunge attack. The first will combo into a grab, while the latter will be followed up by a grab or area-of-effect attack, according to Sportskeeda.

You can either time your dodges or run farther from the boss to avoid getting damaged completely. Both of these attacks are well-telegraphed and have long wind-up animations, which makes them easy to dodge.

After you deal enough damage, you will move on to the second phase of the boss, which adds elemental attacks into the mix. The Stone Monkey gains the ability to use Fire and Frost elemental abilities that can affect areas around the battlefield.

The boss will also summon a clone of itself midway through the second phase, which complicates things even further. The Frost attack has a relatively small area of effect and is easier to dodge than the Fire attack, which covers a wide area.

You should use Pillar Stance and Perfect Dodge to counter the elemental attacks and avoid getting too bruised. You should also make use of Thrust Stance if you want to keep your distance from the Stone Monkey.

After you deal enough damage to the boss, you will eventually emerge victorious, and a cinematic will play out where the Stone Monkey transitions into the Great Sage form. The good thing here is that you get a checkpoint, so you don't have to repeat the first fight if you die in the second.
