Players can encounter a variety of resources and materials when exploring the vast and harsh world of "Icarus."
One of these is glass, which is relatively fragile but has many uses other than just for constructing shelter. This particular material is unlocked after players reach level three of the technology tree.
Some players have a hard time figuring out how to actually start making glass and what the material can be used for throughout their playthrough. This guide helps them by offering some tips and advice on how to get glass themselves and how to use it.
How To Make Glass
In order to unlock glass, you need to reach level 20 and have the Concrete Furnace, which is what can process silica ore. This is the resource that you need to be able to make your own glass in "Icarus."
In order to make the Concrete Furnace, you will need 12 Iron Ingots, eight pieces of Rope, 12 Epoxy, and 2- Concrete Mix. You then need to go to the Machining Bench to build the Concrete Furnace, according to The Gamer.
To build the Machining Bench, you also need to be at least level 20 and have 20 Wood, 12 Stone, 120 Iron Nails, 40 Iron Ingots, 12 Epoxy, and 24 Ropes.

Using the Concrete Furnace
When you have everything that you need to craft your very own glass, you can chuck it inside the Concrete Furnace and then use Coal to fuel the process. You can get Coal by mining inside the many caves that are found across the world of "Icarus," Screen Rant said.
You can find caves in various biomes and are usually located in mountainous areas or under bodies of water. After you get enough Coal, you can continuously process the silica ore that you have gathered.
Using Glass in Icarus
When you get a good supply of glass in the game, you will be able to construct a variety of structures. While they do not have any significant advantages over other construction types, they do possess an additional 5% resistance against falling trees.
Many players tend to use glass to build some of their structures because they prefer the material's aesthetics compared to other resources. It is usually best to mix glass structures with other buildings that are made out of wood, stone, or concrete, according to PCGamesN.
