Blizzard's free card battle game Hearthstone is captivating players on PC and iPad around the world, but don't expect the title on consoles any time soon. Blizzard has said it would consider a console version down the line, but are not working on one right now as the developers focus on the Android release and the Curse of Naxxramas expansion.
"The idea of getting it onto console has come up from players," production director Jason Chayes said in a phone interview with Eurogamer. "It's not something we're actually looking at right now. We feel like we have our hands full in the short term with getting onto Android as soon as we can, which is kind of one of the big priorities we're looking at right now."
Blizzard does not seem particularly pressured to bring Hearthstone to consoles, so if it eventually does happen it will likely do so on its own time. That said, player interest and desire seems to be the main driving force behind any future console version, so I imagine it wouldn't hurt to let your voice be heard if that's what you want, too.
"What we've said in the past, and this will continue to be the case, is that we want to be able to hear back from our community and our players what they're really interested in, what they're very passionate about," Chayes explained. "If getting Hearthstone onto console is something there's a huge interest in, then we'd love to hear about that so it's something we can be thinking about."
