The Epic Games Store is popular for offering players a variety of free games, some of which are among the best of the best.
The latest free game also comes as a much more limited-time offer from the store during the holiday season. The game in question is "Hot Wheels Unleashed," which you can now download for free but only for today, Dec. 28, 2024.
Hot Wheels Unleashed for Free
The game is a third-person racing game that is based on Mattel's line of collectible toy cars. "Hot Wheels Unleashed" was made by Italian developer Milestone and was originally released in 2021.
The company was previously known for its detail-heavy motorsports sims, such as the "MotoGP" and "Ride" series.
Milestone then shocked players and critics by launching a tor car racing sim that mixed the fanciful track designs and stylistic car designs of the "Hot Wheels" brand with the intense speed of its other games, according to Polygon.
The limited-time offer at the Epic Games Store is the perfect opportunity for fans to try out the game at no cost. After the day promo ends, it is not yet known whether or not the store will provide another similar offer of this scale.

Epic Games Store's Free Games
The free Mystery Game promotion is a recurring tradition for the Epic Games Store as it offers free digital games daily at the end of each year. The event this year started on Dec. 12, 2024, and has offered nine games so far, such as "Dredge" and "Control."
The latest title to become free lets players unlock more than 60 different and stylish vehicles. These include many classic cars from the "Hot Wheels" brand. Players can also complete a variety of different challenges in "Hot Wheels Unleashed," Game Rant said.
Another fun thing about the game is that players can create their own tracks that they can use in various races. Some of the other games that were offered by the Epic Games Store include "Vampire Survivors," "TerraTech," "Ghostrunner 2," and many more.
There are still several games that have yet to be revealed that will also be offered for free at the Epic Games Store through to the New Year festivities. People who want more than "Hot Wheels Unleashed" can look at "Hot Wheels Unleashed: Game of the Year Edition," which includes all DLC available.
The base game features various vehicles, including the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' van, and the tracks include offices, skate parks, garages, and many others, according to PCGamesN.
