Developer FromSoftware is renowned for its ability to create amazing worlds inside video games that feature challenging boss fights, and "Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon" is no different.

This mech-themed game where players can control giant robotic monstrosities to fight other similar mechanical marvels. "Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon" offers fast-paced and intense combat action that will test your abilities and patience.

It can be overwhelming when you're just starting out in the game, as you may not fully understand what you need to do at the beginning. This guide aims to give some direction to newcomers to help them get comfortable with "Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon."

Take Advantage of Training Mode

Unlike other FromSoftware games, "Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon" features a training mode where players can practice the game's combat mechanics. This is particularly useful if you are having a hard time mastering the controls.

The game's training mode lets you familiarize yourself with all of the commands at your disposal. These include dodging enemy attacks and targeting multiple enemies with your missiles, according to Polygon.

Master the Art of Hiding

"Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon" features a mechanic where players can take advantage of covers to conceal their position and hide from enemy detection. This is useful because the game, unlike other mech-themed titles, immediately punishes any careless action.

All of the game's levels were designed to give players a chance to take on enemies using various approaches. One option is to use the terrain to your advantage to get a good position before engaging enemies.

Explore the Environment

As is typical with FromSoftware's titles, exploration is rewarded, and the same can be said for "Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon." More often than not, going off-course during missions and exploring larger, open spaces is beneficial.

You will sometimes acquire new parts for your Armored Core (AC) via containers, get data logs from AC wrecks, fight special enemies with Combat Logs, and more enemy AC clusters. The latter is especially useful in missions where you are rewarded for the number of enemies you destroy, IGN said.

Take Advantage of Your Boost

The game itself encourages players to use boosts before they attack in order to deal extra damage to enemies. Use it before a melee attack or even before firing your weapon to make the hit more powerful.

The only drawback to this is that weapons that force you to stop boosting will not get any benefit from this mechanic. This is primarily because these weapons were designed to already be powerful, according to Dual Shockers.
