A new leak for Sonic Racing: Crossworlds has shared some new details about the latest game in the franchise that was revealed at The Game Awards 2024.
The upcoming game will feature Sonic the Hedgehog as well as a set of returning characters from the beloved series. SEGA did not provide many details about Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds when it was unveiled last week.
Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds
The studio only showed fans a short cinematic trailer that featured Shadow hopping into a race car in preparation for going down onto the track. New details about the game were shared by Sonic Stadium on X.
It appears that metadata found on the SEGA Asia website suggests that players will be able to "race across land, sea, air, space, and time." The information also indicates that you will be able to "drift across dimensions."

Take this new information with a grain of salt because there has not been any official announcement regarding what the game could feature. Many fans have speculated following the reveal at The Game Awards 2024 that Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds would feature some content based on the movies, according to Comic Book.
The term CrossWorlds in the game's name suggests that SEGA is cooking up something that would include characters and locations from both games and movies in the franchise. This, alongside the metadata leak, suggests that there could be tracks based on Green Hills, Montana, or movie Sonic and Tom Wachowski as playable characters.
There have been plenty of Sonic releases recently, with Sonic x Shadow Generations being the most notable of them all. The teaser trailer for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds was able to capture the cool style of the black hedgehog and his signature colors.
Latest Entry in the Franchise
The thing that suggested the game could be somehow related to the movies was that it features a look at Shadow heading toward a portal. This is something that was used in the films to introduce the Sonic franchise characters to the human world, Game Spot said.
Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is said to become available on consoles as well as PC when it officially launches. So far, SEGA has not yet provided an estimated release window for the upcoming game.
The game follows Team Sonic Racing, which was originally released in 2019 and featured a team-based system. Many players found that particular entry in the series as mixing both finesse and speed on the racetrack, according to IGN.
