New boss gameplay for the upcoming open-world game Crimson Desert shows off footage of an in-game fight against Hexe Marie.

The open-world action game was developed by Korean studio Pearl Abyss which released a bunch of gameplay videos a few months ago. These included boss fights as well as an extensive 50-minute walkthrough.

Crimson Desert Boss Fight

All of the trailers for Crimson Desert have successfully hyped up the game for fans of the genre ahead of its official release. The boss fight against Hexe Marie was showcased in a seven-minute video.

The footage gave players a glimpse of the powers that the powerful sorceress has at her disposal against them. Crimson Desert continues to impress with amazing visuals and promise of potential.

Pearl Abyss has so far not given the community an exact release date for Crimson Desert. There are rumors that the game will be at next week's The Game Awards. Some fans are looking forward to the event where the game could finally get an official release date, according to Push Square.

On top of the boss fight gameplay, the developer also revealed details of the lore behind the newly revealed character. Hexe Marie is a follower of darkness who is enraptured by the mesmerizing shadows.

She is said to have dared to break forbidden taboos and also infused darkness even into her own offspring. Pearl Abyss noted that a lot of people have tried to prevent Hexe Marie from realizing her twisted ambitions.

However, her power has allowed her to remain within the sanctuary while steeped in wrath and vile curses as she awaits the dawn of the false paradise. A trailer for this particular boss fight was shared last month, MMORPG said.

At the time, it made the dark elements and the inspiration drawn from crows in the boss' design quite clear. This is also seen in the way that she is able to split herself into a flock of black, flying creatures.

One of the core features of Crimson Desert is systems that provide flexibility to let players fight on their own terms. This was fully showcased in the latest trailer and still leaves room for imagination as to how you can take the boss down your own way.

Pearl Abyss is making use of its own engine to bring Crimson Desert to the video game community, known as the BlackSpace Engine. The game was originally planned to be an MMORPG but it later transformed into a single-player experience, according to DSO Gaming.
