The latest patch also introduces a variety of fixes to crashes and memory leaks that some players have been suffering from. The update also disables mouse smoothing and mouse acceleration to help reduce input lag for PC users.
It also addresses many other issues with the game's main mission and side missions. A lot of the fixes are considered spoilers as they mention parts of the story. Patch 1.0.3 also addressed some issues with AI, including an instance where NPC stalkers will block doorways and monster bodies acting weirdly if shot. There was also a vendor who did not sell certain ammo types.
GSC Game World's Commitment
The camera settings that come in the new patch change the default values of mouse sensitivity which are now at 25% and 15% for camera sensitivity and aim sensitivity, respectively. The update also addresses an issue where players could sometimes lock themselves during a particular mission, Gaming Bolt said.
GSC Game World previously said that it remained committed to addressing the variety of bugs and issues that are present in STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl. The game finally launched after years of controversy and delays following Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
The developer posted on social media expressing its excitement regarding the game's long-delayed launch. It also immediately shared its plans to address the problems that players have been experiencing.
The studio noted that STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl is its biggest game throughout its history. This is the primary reason that it gave to explain the many rough edges that the game suffers from. It noted that it was going to release hotfixes to fix major issues, according to The Gamer.
