Developer CCP is holding a limited-time event for EVE Vanguard that gives players free access to the game until Dec. 9, 2024.
The event comes ahead of the game's scheduled early access release sometime early next year. The free access is CCP's attempt at a playtest to see how the game runs and if there are any problems that should be addressed.
EVE Vanguard Free Access
EVE Vanguard is a spinoff title of EVE Online and takes place in the same universe while being a bit more personal. The game is an MMO first-person shooter that features a persistent universe where player actions will have consequences in the long term.
The game gives players the chance to become elite mercenaries whose ground operations will have a direct influence on the massive player-driven conflicts that are happening above. The limited-time event will start on Nov. 28, 2024, and will run until Dec. 9, 2024.
It will be completely free to play as long as players have an access code, which is being handed out by CCP. If you want to get one, you need to go to the game's Discord server. EVE Online Mega subscribers will get an access code through their email, according to Read Write.
The limited-time Groundbreak event will have a variety of features that will also be seen in the full game. These are manufacturing and upgrades, deployment map and map variants, and many more.
Various activities will also be available and players can go mining in order to gather various resources. Another noteworthy part of the event is cross-game digital rewards as players can obtain loot crates for playing that will have EVE Online ship skins and an EVE Vanguard weapon skin.
An Immersive Ecosystem
A blog post also said that the limited-time event lets players descend onto diverse planetary battlegrounds as technologically immortal warclones. They will be able to engage in intense ground combat, MMORPG said.
You will be given a choice of a faction and then be able to join 9v9 battles in order to siege enemy lines to contribute to your alliance's progress in the war. Creative director Bergur Finnbogason said that EVE Vanguard will continue to grow into a platform where players can experience unlimited possibilities.
He said that by connecting ground combat with the vast conflicts of New Eden, they are able to create a game that is more than just a lobby shooter. Finnbogason said that it is an ecosystem where each person's story is part of a greater narrative. EVE Vanguard is set to have a global launch sometime in 2027 for PC users, according to VG247.
