Developer Remedy Entertainment released the patch notes for Alan Wake 2's final DLC, The Lake House. They detail what fans can expect from the expansion.

The new DLC includes even more horrifying content that features supernatural scares. One of these comes in the form of a new enemy, The Painted. Staying true to the expansion's name, a new location is also being introduced, The Lake House.

The developers also shared 20 minutes of gameplay that showcase the new DLC, raising questions of whether or not Federal Bureau of Control (FBC) Agent Kieran Estevez can survive once more. The new footage also gives players a glimpse of what they can expect to experience with the new stuff being added, according to IGN.

The Lake House expansion is the game's second and last DLC which comes roughly a year after the launch of the base game. Fans of the Alan Wake franchise are somewhat disappointed that the series is ending with the new expansion.

But some hold hope that Remedy Entertainment can do something similar to what was done with the Control franchise. This is that The Lake House DLC will build up to the recently announced Control sequel, FBC: Firebreak.

Players who already had their experiences in the base Alan Wake 2 game, The Lake House DLC will fully explore a new mystery. This is one that was only previously hinted at by the developers, Game Spot said.

The Final Expansion

In the final expansion, an FBC outpost has gone dark and Agent Estevez is the one who was sent to respond to the anomaly. This makes her playable for the first time in the history of the Alan Wake franchise.

Taking control of Estevez, players will be able to have a new perspective on the mysteries of Remedy Entertainment's carefully crafted world. The character is no newbie and is able to power through things that other people would be scared of.

The Lake House expansion can now be downloaded for players on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. The game's version 1.2.2 is also being called the "Anniversary Update" as it primarily brings the final DLC to Alan Wake 2.

On top of the new content, Remedy Entertainment made some adjustments and changes with the new DLC. These include gameplay features such as infinite ammo and health as well as gyro aiming support for the PlayStation 5, according to Comic Book.
