The first major update for the Silent Hill 2 Remake comes with patch 1.04 which brings improved Steam Deck performance, crash fixes, and many more.
Bloober Team just released the update in order to address various gameplay issues and to improve the remake's technical performance for a better gaming experience. The developer released the patch notes on Steam that outline dozens of changes made to the game.
Silent Hill 2 Remake Update
Some of these adjustments were made to address some weird bugs such as Silent Hill 2 protagonist James teleporting through a peephole and getting stuck inside a window found near Neely's Bar.
The studio also reduced the remake's visual glitches when players used the latest version of NVIDIA DLSS. The team also added an option that lets you enable DLSS frame generation in the menu when using DLSS for supersampling, according to IGN.
The Silent Hill 2 Remake was released on Oct. 8, 2024, and quickly gained critical acclaim. It was able to sell more than a million copies in less than a week, leaving fans wanting more from the popular franchise.
