Magic The Gathering just revealed its first set of Marvel-themed cards. These feature the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man, the Avengers, and the X-Men.

With a focus on the web-slinging superhero, Magic the Gathering will feature Spider-man's allies, villains, and potentially alternate versions. The collaboration between the two franchises was first announced in October last year.

Marvel-Themed MTG Cards

It gave fans confirmation that Marvel would also get a full booster set treatment similar to Lord Of The Rings: Tales Of Middle-earth. But the latest release would instead focus on individual characters instead of the general Marvel universe.

Judging by how the previous set turned out, the Marvel-themed cards would most likely be legal in Commander, Vintage, and Legacy. Some fans believe that the new cards will also be useable in Modern.

The set is expected to receive the full range of Play and Collector boosters. It can also receive Commander decks and starter products to help market the game to fans of Spider-Man, according to The Gamer.

Spider-Man is considered a great fit for a card set for Magic the Gathering. This is not only thanks to his array of villains but also his different costumes and alternate versions. People are expecting that characters such as Miles Morales and Miguel O'Hara will make an appearance alongside Peter Parker.

A Secret Lair superdrop of cards will also feature several Marvel characters, including Black Panther, Captain America, and Wolverine. These cards will be coming out a few months before Peter Parker joins the Magic the Gathering universe.

Marvel's Collaboration

The first set of Marvel-themed cards that feature Captain America and Co. will be on sale starting on Nov. 4, 2024. Each individual drop will have a price tag of $40 or if you want the same cards in a foil treatment, you have to pay $50, CNET said.

Talking about what each card features, Captain America will have abilities based on throwing his shield around. He has a throw effect that lets you unequip items so that you can deal damage to multiple enemies at once.

You can then use Catch to re-equip his shield after you toss it around to hit your foes. This particular ability automatically triggers at the start of combat. From the X-Men, Storm is also included in the set.

On the other hand, fan-favorite Wolverine is difficult to beat due to his amazing regenerative abilities. He also has an effect that doubles his damage making him a strong card to get kills with Commander damage, according to War Gamer.
