Indie game Liar's Bar is out on early access on Steam and it has already overtaken the likes of Diablo IV for peak player count.

Liar's Bar gradually picked up players' attention on Steam since it was released in early access. It has finally peaked with a 69,083 player count, surpassing Diablo IV's peak of 55,561. This is even higher than Stellaris' peak of 68,602.

Liar's Bar Overtakes Diablo IV

Developer Curve Animation's indie game lets you play tabletop games against three other players inside a bar. The main feature of Liar's Bar is that all of the players' characters are animals.

The early access version of Liar's Bar currently has two games, Liar's Deck and Liar's Dice. These two games require you to make strategic moves to outplay and deceive your opponents. When the game launches in full, the developer will add two more games, according to PCGamesN.

Liar's Bar is also relatively cheap and will only cost you $6.99 if you are looking to get into its multiplayer features. Right now, it has a "Very Positive" rating summary on Valve's gaming platform, showcasing how popular it is among players.

The main thing about the game is just how many streamers are actually playing it, including Felix "xQc" Lengyel and "Neebs Gaming," Liar's Bar is using its strengths to take Steam by storm and rise through the top of the charts.

Talking about the two games currently available, Liar's Deck is Liar's Bar's take on the card game Cheat. Liar's Dice is a game where you have to predict how many of a certain number the entire group has rolled, Forbes said.

Amazing Execution on a Simple Concept

What has many players hooked on Liar's Bar despite its relatively simple mechanics is the excellent execution of its simple concept. The game's visual style and character models and animation are better than what you would expect from a social deception game.

Liar's Bar features an atmosphere that perfectly fits what it is going for. The game feels sleazy and rough. This can also be seen when a player dies a gruesome death. This is because only one can survive until the end of the game.

With the game's full release, the developer promises to bring an enhanced bar atmosphere and introduce graphic optimization. Curve Animation also plans to add new playable characters with the 1.0 release and implement customization options as well as a leaderboard for players to compete in, according to Steam.
