Publisher NIS America announced that The Legend of Heroes: Trails Through Daybreak II will have a Feb. 14, 2025, release date for the Nintendo Switch.
The official release date comes only eight months after the launch of the first game, The Legend of Heroes: Trails Through Daybreak, for Western players. The upcoming title is the 12th entry in the highly popular RPG franchise and is the second game that focuses on the Calvard arc.
The Legend of Heroes: Trails Through Daybreak II
The Legend of Heroes: Trails Through Daybreak II will continue the story of protagonist Van Arkride and his friends. It comes as its predecessor felt like it was mostly a standalone story. A lot of familiar faces from other games in the series will return.
The latest update also shared a new trailer for the upcoming sequel. The video shows the returning characters that will be a part of the story, according to Nintendo Life.
The sequel's story comes after the events of the first game and the region of Calvard has mostly gone back to its normal state. However, a series of murders involving crimson-colored beasts are threatening the peace.
The protagonist is suddenly dragged into investigating the matter. This is after an unexpected visitor arrives. He now needs to find out who exactly is responsible for the murders and determine what their motives are.

The Legend of Heroes: Trails Through Daybreak II will be available on consoles and PC. However, it will not be on Xbox consoles. NIS America also gave a brief overview of the game that gives fans an idea of what to expect, Gematsu said.
The game's battle system builds on the seamless transition between field battles and command battles that was first introduced in the previous title. The sequel adds some new mechanics that players can use, such as Cross Charge and EX Chains.
Various New Features and Mechanics
If you are able to master these new features, you can gain overwhelming firepower to defeat any foe. Cross Charge can be done after a Perfect Dodge. If you press the correct prompts, you will swap to another character who will perform a charge attack on your enemies.
On the other hand, EX Chains can only be activities after meeting certain conditions during command battles. But if you meet these requirements, you can use a craft or normal attack on a stunned enemy to activate EX Chain.
This lets party members who have SCLM activated perform a simultaneous attack that will also hit nearby enemies. This new feature is very useful as it deals devastating damage to your foes.
The Legend of Heroes: Trails Through Daybreak II expects players to have knowledge of the story and happenings from the first game. It also features many references to other games in the franchise that fans will surely enjoy, according to Sports Illustrated.
