The original trilogy for the highly popular horror franchise STALKER is coming to the Nintendo Switch. The bundle is set to come this Halloween season.
Developer GSC Game World is bringing the original trilogy to Nintendo's handheld console. This comes as the studio brings the Legends of the Zone remasters to the Switch as well. The company confirmed in a social media post that the package will launch on Oct. 31, 2024.
STALKER Trilogy
The update follows a previous announcement during the Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase held in August 2024. That was when GSC Game World teased that the first-person shooter game trilogy would be released sometime in November this year.
The release date earlier suggests that the developers made great progress on getting it to the door quicker. The studio also said that the launch is "slightly ahead of the initially planned November release window."
The STALKER franchise is set within an alternative reality. It is based on the Chornobyl Exclusion Zone in Ukraine. Players will take control of a Stalker, dangerous explorers who venture into The Zone to search for resources and potential treasures, according to Pocket Tactics.

However, survival in the STALKER games is not exactly something that is easy to accomplish. GSC Game World's approach to open-world games is more often than not merciless and bleak. One example is ammo is usually hard to find. Furthermore, The Zone is filled with rogue factions and mutated creatures.
The developer previously released the Legends of the Zone trilogy on PlayStation 4 and Xbox Series X/S. But now, Nintendo Switch players will get a series of handheld-exclusive improvements.
A Post-Apocalyptic World
The STALKER trilogy will include 2007's Shadow of Chernobyl, 2008's Clear Sky, and 2009's Call of Pripyat. The three games will have various improvements such as gyro aiming and touchscreen support. They will also feature improved graphics and support for handheld and docked modes, Nintendo Life said.
Each title in the trilogy will cost $19.99 each but the bundle that features all three games will only cost $39.99. The STALKER franchise depicts a post-apocalyptic wasteland that effectively boasts various survival first-person shooter gameplay mechanics.
The developers said that the improvements made for the Nintendo Switch versions of the games make their experience in The Zone much more authentic. This is true for veteran players who want to relive the cruel world or those who want to experience it for the first time, according to Gematsu.
The trilogy collection comes as STALKER 2 is set to release on Nov. 21, 2024, for PC and Xbox players.
