'Monument Valley 3' Pre-Registrations Now Open for Upcoming Netflix Games Title

Monument Valley 3 is now open for pre-registrations ahead of the upcoming Netflix Games title's Dec. 10, 2024, launch.

The announcement was made during the Netflix Geeked Week 2024 Live presentation. One particular segment near the end was dedicated to the growing Netflix Games platform on mobile devices.

Monument Valley 3 is the latest title in the critically-acclaimed mobile puzzle franchise. There was also new footage shown off behind closed doors during a press briefing earlier this week. One particular clip featured an extended look at the new sailing traversal mechanic.

This was what the official reveal trailer initially teased that lets players hold their finger down to move it around the screen. This will guide the boat in different directions to cater to what players need to do.

There was also another clip that showed a unique puzzle in the series' trademark isometric view. It featured some of the pathways being rendered invisible by an intense white light coming from the background, according to GameSpot.

The announcement of Monument Valley 3's release date came a month after the game was first revealed during Gamescom Opening Night Live. The first two games in the series will also come to the Netflix Games platform ahead of the latest title.

The original is set to drop on Sept. 19, 2024, while the sequel will come on Oct. 29, 2024. The latest presentation also revealed other games that are coming to the Netflix Games platform in the coming weeks. These include a new Spongebob-themed puzzle game and Blood Line: A Rebel Moon Game.

New Titles Coming to Netflix Games

Another title making its way to the platform is a Squid Game-inspired title. Other plans for releases include Civilization 6 and Street Fighter 4 Champion Edition. The Rebel Moon project in particular is an online multiplayer game, EsportsIllustrated said.

Here players will lead a team of rebel squadmates to reclaim their planet from the Motherworld. This title is a Netflix Games exclusive and is set to arrive on the platform sometime next year.

The upcoming Monument Valley 3, on the other hand, makes the introduction of sailing its biggest change to the series. This addition means that the game is no longer restricted to "geometric spaces."

Game director Jennifer Estaris added that the game will feature unfolding cubes. These will shift the protagonist, Noor, onto different planes. She also noted that Monument Valley 3 is primarily about "deconstructing what we know," according to Engadget.
